We seek a research assistant (part-time or full-time) with good data management skills to work on micro-data sets related to the Swedish automobile market. More specifically, the successful candidate will work with and help us to make sense of both micro-level household data and data from the vehicle register and vehicle testing (odometer readings, vehicle pollution measurements etc).


The successful candidate will have strong data management skills, including the following:
  • The ability to extract, merge, and "clean" data stored on an external server
  • Prior experience or expertise in using/working with data management using statistical packages such as R (or Stata, Matlab). 
No prior experience regarding automobile markets is needed, but an interest in working on understanding the Swedish automobile market and the effect of climate related policies on it is desirable. 

A background in economics or statistics, and an interest in statistical modeling, particularly choice modeling, while not required, will be helpful.


Uppsala or Umeå. 

Form of employment

The initial employment will be for up to 6 months, with the possibility for extension. 


Subject to negotiation, between 50 and 100 percent of full time. 

Starting date

By agreement.
